Cover from Argentina no. 3

A fantastic cover sent on 5 April 2010 from Villa Nueva, Province of Córdoba, Argentina, with the set of stamps from this year's UPAEP series dedicated to the national symbols. The two Argentinian stamps, issued on 27 March 2010, feature the national coat of arms and the flag. I really love these stamps!

Thank you, Germán!!

If there anyone in other UPAEP countries willing to send me a cover with this year's issue, please contact me. I 'll be happy to send you a nice cover from the Czech Republic in return.

Cover from Brazil no. 3

Another nice cover from Brazil, received on 9 March 2009 and sent on 16 February 2009 from Brasília/BSB (maybe the airport?). There are 3 self-adhesive (and impossible to soak off;-)) definitives from the series dedicated to various trades (sapateiro and costureira) plus a trumpet (and scouting) stamp I have already commented in one of my earlier posts. The larger commemorative stamp was issued on 8 September 2007, in 1,020,000 copies, in the project UPAEP, with the theme Education for All. The stamp bears the logo of ProInfo (Programa Nacional de Informática na Educação) and celebrates the distance learning using computers.

Thank you, Claudinei!

Postcard from Costa Rica no. 2

This postcard from Costa Rica reached me in only 10 days. It shows the map of the country with its major beaches, and I guess that for every inhabitant of a landlocked country somewhere in central Europe it must look like a paradise...

The larger stamp of 155 colones was issued on 8 June 2007 as part of the UPAEP project (Unión Postal de las Américas, España y Portugal with its seat in Montevideo, Uruguay). The theme for 2007 was Educación para Todos (Education for All). This Costarican stamp shows an illustration from a textbook of the Cabécar language, spoken by some 4000 persons in Costa Rica.

The smaller stamp of 10 colones was issued in 2002 and along with 4 other stamps commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the Panamerican Health Organization.

Thank you, Shirley!
